Stay Woke: 1968 Olympics Black Power salute

I've seen a ton of articles on the greatest photos in American history and this one is always on the list. Usually referred to as the "Black Power salute" U.S. athletes Tommie Smith and John Carlos stare downward during the The Star-Spangled Banner after Smith received the gold and Carlos the bronze for the 200-meter run at the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City.  Read more about them here.

I have to agree with all the articles, its a powerful photo. Going into the design I wanted something striking, in your face. The fists are so strong so color wise using something bright and bold seems like the best option. The texture was inspired by the texture of a track and the hands represent the black gloves the runners wore in representation of black power.
