Stay Woke: Misty Copeland

Lets start with the fact that Misty Copeland is a BEAST, looking at her track record she's killed anything she's been apart of.  Misty is the first African American woman to be promoted to principal dancer for the American Ballet Theatre (one of the leading ballet companies in the US). Lets keep in mind that ABT was founded around 1937... you read correctly.. 1937. I could go on and on about Misty's accolades but I just went to her site and the design is great so I'll send you there. For more information on Misty check her out here.

For this collage I wanted to do something that represents movement due to the nature of Misty's work. The texture and palm tree leaves give me a real California care free vibe which is Misty's home state. Let me tell you, this collage situation is HARD! While of course I have creative control of what I'm doing its some many elements to consider like texture, composition, color, and the relation of the objects.
