Recent Work: Hollywood Glam
Its definitely wedding season if you haven't noticed. I had the pleasure to design a website for two of my friends for their big day. I have this love/hate relationship with web design, its something I love practicing but its always the most frustrating. This project wasn't frustrating at all and I found myself being able to tackle each web problem with ease (after a few breaks). The aesthetic is modern art deco (or hollywood glam). When starting each project I always create a moodboard, this gives me a narrowed down visual of what I want to aim for. In the beginning I wanted to use a ton of different patterns and textures that resemble The Great Gatsby. After reviewing the content of the site I decided to go a different direction and simplify so that the content can breathe. Kiara and Dequaris had a WONDERFUL photographer which made my job easier. I decided to go with a mix of elegant bold photos and hints of art deco/old hollywood. For the platform I decided to go with Squarespace, I've used everything from Wordpress, Wix, and Blogger but for right now Squarespace has everything I need (and its easy to design). I highly recommend Squarespace if you're interested in designing a site. I love the final product and I'm looking forward to seeing what this site turns into (theres a blog coming soon here).
